Zap, Raye Hollitt

INTRODUCTION

Paul from the Gladiators Zone spoke exclusively to American Gladiator Zap, Raye Hollitt. We talked about her time with the American Gladiators and why she would rather face the men up on the Duel platform...

INTERVIEW

Q: "How did you feel competing against Gladiator Dallas in the American Gladiators finale?"

Zap Interview

Zap: "It was pretty even as she had the age advantage and I had the experience of six years. I got pooped in the Eliminator round."

Q: "What were your best and worst Events?"

Zap Interview

Zap: "I was really good at The Wall and Hang Tough. I was really good but I hated this event, the Joust (Duel in the UK). I didn't like Powerball."

Q: "How did you join the Gladiators show?"

Zap Interview

Zap: "After I did Skin Deep, they found me. I ran the obstacle course for the producers and landed the job."

Q: "Why did the name Zap suit you?"

Zap Interview

Zap: "They were auditioning for the character 'ZAP'... blonde, buxom, athletic... strikes like lightning, gets in fast and causes a lot of damage. That was me!"

Q: "What was your most thrilling moment during your career as Gladiator?"

Zap Interview

Zap: "The most exciting moment, or moments was going on tour. We were like an athletic rock band touring the country. What a blast."

Q: "What you think was your best attribute as Gladiator?"

Zap Interview

Zap: "My finest attribute as a Gladiator was showmanship. I was a good sport, a good teammate, a good athlete and great with the audience."

Q: "What do you think of the International Gladiators?"

Zap Interview

Zap: "Honestly, I have really never seen any of the Euorpean Gladiators. I did go to Japan for their version called 'Bam, Bam, Bam' that was hilarious! They had costurmes, weren't in shape and had no clue what they were doing. We led by example."

Q: "Do you still train now that you don't compete in Gladiators?"

Zap Interview

Zap: "I do tons of cardio. I hired a trainer to do core, balancing, minor weight training etc. I always do some training but try to stay away from weights as I have a tendency to get super huge."

Q: "Which fellow Gladiators impressed you most?"

Zap Interview

Zap: "The ones that kept their jobs the longest, didn't whine and complain, were team players and those that became friends and stayed friends. No names, sorry."

Q: "If you could face any other person on Duel (Joust in USA), who would it be and why?"

Zap Interview

Zap: "Pick a guy. Forget the chicks. I just have too much power and too much experience. I know how to take the hits. From guys, it would actually be nice to fall off and get nailed."

Q: "Finally, what are you doing nowadays and do you have a mess age to any of your fans?"

Zap Interview

Zap: "Just do it, like 'NIKE' says. I always believed that. Too many people have too many excuses. The people that make it, move it, literally. I am a walking example. I just keep on keeping on, whether there are obstacles or not. I just hurdle over them."
