EPISODE 1, SERIES 2 (04/01/09)

Welcome to the series 2 Gladiators Zone blog. Firstly, from me, a massive 'Hello' to all you Gladiator Zone fans and a huge thank you for such a warm welcome to the website.
What a great episode to kick off the new series! Four fighting fit contenders, twelve even fitter Gladiators, and an impressive debut show for our stunning new presenter, Caroline Flack, who has so far proven herself to be the perfect co-host for good old Wrighty.
There were far too many highlights to mention them all in one blog. Panther lead from the start by remaining undefeated in the classic favourite - Duel, with Spartan following in her feline footsteps.
Then what a way to end the show with two great Eliminators; the hands only technique of conquering the cargo net even had the Gladiators impressed, except for Tornado who reminded us of how he can easily climb the entire wall without using his feet (it's true, I've seen him do it!).
My favourite event of the night had to be the new and improved Earthquake. I was truly proud of Siren and Goliath for their convincing debut victories. However, it was not a good night for the most evil of Gladiators. Enigma's result was perhaps debatable, but Oblivion's title of 'Undefeated Earthquake champion of the world' was well and truly crushed. The Gladiator green room was electric when contender Mark managed to climb back up Oblivion's torso, back onto the platform... The cheek!!! Needless to say we all felt his rage backstage, but it wasn't long before his ego was back on top of the world (that he is no longer Earthquake champion of !).
