Gladiatorerna Returns

The Swedish Gladiators (Gladiatorerna) have been relaunched in 2011 for the filming of their sixth series on TV4, produced by Meter Television. The show, which has been off air since 2004, returns with a fanastic new home at the Lõfbergs Lila Arena, Karlstad, Sweden.

Like many of the new versions of Gladiators, it now features a giant pool in which some of the Events are played. It is also TV4's largest project to date and promises to be the biggest yet! 8,500 applications were recieved for the 2011 series, compared to just 3,000 back in 2004.

The new series will premiere in late 2011 or early 2012.

Familiar Faces

The relaunched series features some familiar faces from the original series. Hero returns as the only Gladiator to compete in every Swedish Gladiators series so far. Also joining him from the original series are Amazon and Phoenix. Puma and Attila, the newest Gladiators from Series 5, return under the new personas Stinger and Pansar respectively. Series 5's (2004) Contender Champion Patrick Lessa returns but this time as a fully fledged Gladiator known as Baron Samedi.

Gry Forssell takes over the reins from Agneta Sjödin and Gunde Svan as the new presenter. Niklas Wikegård and Jesper Hussfelt join the series as the new commentators and Lahdo Sharro is the new referee.
