Gladiators Zone - Destroyer, Damar Martin

Destroyer is a bodybuilder with many titles to his name. He started training with weights at the age of 19 and competed at junior level when he was 20. Destroyer has competed in and won many competitions, including UKBFF South East British Qualifier, EFBB British Qualifier, Open Mr London and London Open Classic. He is currently a personal trainer.

What are your memories of the original series of Gladiators?
I'm the oldest of the Gladiators so for me I was watching it before I went out on a Saturday night. It was one of those shows I watched and thought, "I could do that, I could be a Gladiator".

Who was your favourite Gladiator?
Shadow for his brute strength and Wolf for his personality.

What qualities does a Gladiator need?
Determination and strength. A Gladiator has to want to win and if I lose I'll be upset. I'll have a tantrum.

What can the audience expect from Destroyer?
Destruction.

Do you have any words of warning for the Contenders?
Well they're talking about not being scared of us, but if they're going to talk about fear then they must have some fear.

Do you have a weakness the Contenders could exploit?
What does that mean? How dare you?

Which events are you most looking forward to?
Duel and Gauntlet, because I'm unstoppable.

If you were an animal what would you be?
An elephant.
