VERTIGO
OBJECTIVE
Vertigo is a straight race between the Gladiator and Contender. There are two lines of five flexible poles, standing at a height of 27 feet. Both competitors start stood on the arena floor, with safety harnesses attactched to themselves and the arena grid above. On the whistle both competitors run to the first pole and start to climb to the top. Once at the top they have to sway the flexible pole until they can reach and cross themselves onto the second pole. On the fifth pole the competitors sway and launch themselves to grab a hanging ring. They have to hold onto the ring until they are lowered to the landing finishing podium. On landing the event is won.
FACTS
If a Gladiator won the Vertigo race the theme music 'You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet' by Bus Stop was played.
The women played Vertigo twice as much as what the men did, with the men only competing when the event was shown in full and not a split event. Vertigo was one of three events to have its debut showing as a split event (only men or women playing the event during one show).
